Chapter 131 Dead And Deader
[You have died]
[You lost one level. Free Attribute Points will be deducted.]
[Do you choose to revive? Y/N]
Jake nodded. Reviving in World Online had something good about it. Once you revived, you would be taken to a random safe point in the territory, a place where there was no one about to attack.
He clicked on the green button, and he felt color return to the world. He could see the forest around him teeming. The sun was bright, and its glare made Jake look away.
The first thing that he did was look at his inventory. He wanted to look at the one thing that was in his inventory the moment he died.
"It\'s there. It\'s there." Jake smiled. He jumped up and down like a small girl who just got her wish list satisfied. He had it in his inventory.
"This is worth losing literally everything that we have gotten here. I actually have it in my inventory! I have the egg of a monster than can become unstoppable." Jake thought to himself.
Immediately, he opened his chats. There was the one message from Myriad Arrows.
[You died?]
[Yeah. I did.] Jake responded. It had been around a minute or two since he died, and the revive process was pretty quick.
[Where are you? Where did you revive?]
[I am not sure. I will check. But now that we are done with the task, I don\'t want to tempt fate. What is done is done. I don\'t want to take the risk. We are leaving, now. If the Gojira has some vendetta on us, we are screwed. We will have to go today.] Jake said.
[What did you do when you sent me? Did you try and distract it or something?] Myriad Arrows asked.
Clearly, he did not see what Jake saw.
[I will tell you when I see you. For now, move toward the mountain. I will also try to get to the mountain. Meet you there. We need to get to the peak, so start climbing. It is a long climb.] Jake texted back.
He looked up in the air. There was a large mountain visible in the distance. It was where he had to go. But for now, he needed to move cautiously. He was in an area that had not a single dinosaur in sight. That could only mean that he was part of a bigger territory of a more terrifying monster.
He went up the trees, being the only sensible thing to do at the moment. He couldn\'t afford to stay in sight to anyone. Right now, the only thing that he wanted to do was leave and put this egg that was in his position somewhere safe.
[Got it. I\'ll get to the mountain peak.]
Myriad Arrows responded swiftly, and now, both of them were off.
Jake started looking at his map. He looked at his locator, but it couldn\'t see where the computer was. It was in Myriad Arrows\' inventory after all.
Jake started moving slowly. He had two days in his hands. Two days to get to the peak of the mountain.
He had only one problem with it. One side of the mountain was out of bounds.
It was where the Gojira was going to be prowling. With one of its eggs gone, surely, it would stay with the other eggs, but there was nothing wrong in staying safe.
Jake moved, and got closer to the mountain quite swiftly. This was the time that dinosaurs went out hunting. Sure, dinosaurs weren\'t necessarily going to be prowling in territorial boundaries, but Jake didn\'t want to risk it.
His path was long. He didn\'t cut a straight line forward as he added a few distractions on the way so that no dinosaur would want to keep looking for other prey.
And soon enough, he got close enough to touch the mountain. He started climbing. The moment he got a little high, he would be safe.
Disregarding what his stamina was, he started climbing at an aggravated speed. After reaching twenty meters high, he stopped for his first small break.
Catching a breath for a minute, he looked down. There were dinosaurs visible in the distance, bu none of them were looking at him. This was a barren area, which was all the better for him.
He looked up again and started climbing again.
On this three hundred meter journey that went up, he could only rest properly once he got out of reach from the Gojira.
It towered at a staggering hundred meters, and if it raised its arms, it could probably get even higher than that.
So Jake intended to get to the two hundred meter mark before he would even stop for a big break.
He continued up the mountain. His eyes were failing him in the middle, but he persisted.
"Damn it. The toll on my body is higher than I expected. The moment that I leave this secret realm, I am going to run out of Croatia and I am going to get to Diffast so that I can finally rest." Jake told himself as he grabbed the nearest rock.
The rock broke, and he almost fell down. He held the rock harder with his left hand and gained a foot hold quickly.
"That was close. I could have died and revived elsewhere." Jake shook his head, regaining full capacity of his faculties, and looked up again.
He wasn\'t going to take a rest until he was in the clear.
His journey up started again. He went up twenty more meters. And then twenty more. The higher he went, the more he could see, and the clearer he could see it.
Soon enough, he could see all of this side of the forest. He could see that the Gojira wasn\'t on his side of the mountain. It was on the other side. But that didn\'t stop him from climbing.
Sure he was a few dozens of meters above, but now, he wanted to get to the top.
